NexPedition uses Google OAuth 2.0 for authentication. When you sign in with Google, we receive:

• Your Google display name
• Your Google profile picture URL

We do not receive your Google password or payment information. Your Google account credentials are managed entirely by Google.

1.3 Usage Data

We may automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, including:

• Device type (desktop, mobile)
• Pages visited and features used
• IP address and approximate geographic region
• Timestamps of activity

1.4 Push Notification Tokens (Mobile App)

If you use the NexPedition mobile app and grant notification permissions, we store a device token that allows us to send you push notifications. This token is tied to your account and device.

• Create and manage your NexPedition account
• Display your profile, submissions, and rank in the community feed
• Process and approve your gameplay submissions
• Send in-app notifications about props, comments, and approvals

• Detect and prevent abuse, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service
• Improve and maintain the Service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 Public by Design

NexPedition is a community platform. The following information is visible to all users of the Service:

• Your display name
• Your profile picture
• Your rank and points
• Screenshots and captions you submit (once approved)
• Comments you post
• Rank-up events (when you reach a new rank)

Please do not submit content you wish to keep private.

3.2 Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate NexPedition. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Supabase (supabase.com) — database, authentication, and file storage
• Netlify (netlify.com) — website and function hosting
• Google OAuth (google.com) — authentication provider
• Google AdSense (planned) — advertising (if and when enabled, a separate notice will be provided)

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or prevent harm.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data and submitted content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Submitted images are stored in cloud storage and deleted when your account or the associated submission is deleted.

5. Children’s Privacy

NexPedition is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email below and we will delete it promptly.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 should use the Service only with parental consent.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Correction

You may update your display name and profile picture at any time through the Edit Profile section of the app.

6.2 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email address below. We will process your request within 30 days.

6.3 Push Notifications

You may disable push notifications at any time through your device’s system settings.

6.4 Google Account

You may revoke NexPedition’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com.

6.5 California Residents (CCPA)

1. About NexPedition

NexPedition is a community-based screenshot scavenger hunt game. Players capture screenshots from video games, match them to objectives, submit them for approval, earn points, and compete on scoreboards. The Service is operated by NexPedition ("we," "us," or "our") and is accessible at nexpedition-v2.netlify.app and through our mobile applications.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use NexPedition.
• Users between 13 and 17 years old must have parental or guardian consent.
• By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
• We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we believe are held by users who do not meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

3.1 Registration

You sign in to NexPedition using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your account.

3.2 Account Conduct

• Not impersonate another person or entity
• Not use another user’s account without permission
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at our sole discretion for violation of these Terms or for any conduct we determine to be harmful to the Service or its community.

4. User Content

4.1 What You Submit

"User Content" means any screenshots, images, captions, game titles, display names, profile pictures, and comments you submit through NexPedition.

4.2 License You Grant Us

By submitting User Content, you grant NexPedition a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, distribute, and use that content within the Service. This includes showing your submissions in the community feed, scoreboards, and Hall of Fame. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been publicly displayed and cached by others.

4.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all User Content you submit. You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to submit the content
• Your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
• Your content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws

NexPedition is a fan community platform. Screenshots from video games are generally considered fair use for non-commercial community commentary and gameplay documentation. However, you are responsible for ensuring your submissions comply with applicable law.

4.4 Content Moderation

All submissions are reviewed by an administrator before appearing in the community feed. We reserve the right to reject, remove, or modify any User Content at our discretion.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
• Submit content that sexually exploits or depicts minors in any way
• Submit content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others in a manner beyond fair use
• Attempt to manipulate scores, rankings, or the approval system
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
• Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Create multiple accounts to evade a suspension or ban
• Harass, bully, or threaten other users
• Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content in comments
• Collect or harvest other users’ personal information without consent

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 NexPedition’s IP

All content, features, and functionality of NexPedition that are not User Content — including but not limited to the game mechanics, objectives, scoring system, UI design, and code — are owned by NexPedition and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our express written permission.

6.2 Video Game Content

Video game screenshots submitted by users depict content owned by their respective game developers and publishers. NexPedition does not claim ownership of any video game content. We believe community screenshot hunting constitutes fair use, but we will respond promptly to valid DMCA takedown requests.

6.3 DMCA Takedown Procedure

If you believe content on NexPedition infringes your copyright, please send a notice to nexpeditiongame@gmail.com including:

• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• Identification of the infringing material and its location on the Service
• Your contact information
• A statement of good faith belief that use is not authorized
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act
• Your physical or electronic signature

7. Points, Ranks, and Rewards

Points, ranks, scoreboards, Hall of Fame placements, and any titles or accolades within NexPedition have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, prizes, or any other consideration outside the game. We reserve the right to adjust, reset, or modify the scoring system at any time.

Admin decisions regarding submission approvals, point awards, and rank placements are final.

8. Subscriptions and Purchases

NexPedition may offer an optional ad-free subscription tier in the future. Any paid features will be clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. All purchases are subject to the terms of the relevant app store (Google Play or Apple App Store). We do not store payment information directly.

These Terms will be updated to reflect any paid subscription terms before they are offered.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We are not responsible for any loss of data.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEXPEDITION SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed USD $50.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NexPedition and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your User Content, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date and notify users through a notice within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

If we make material changes that affect your rights, we will provide at least 14 days’ notice before the changes take effect.

14. Miscellaneous

• If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
• Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right.
• These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and NexPedition regarding the Service.
• You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights freely.
